UBAHN ANIMATION
This animation is inspired by the experience of getting lost in Berlin, both literally and figuratively. The city has an incredible amount to discover, but its constant energy, nightlife and endless possibilities can also become overwhelming if you don’t know when to slow down.
The story follows a character who has a very simple life and after some time living in Berlin and discovering the "party" lifestyle, gets lost and forgets his priorities.
It was quite challenging to chose how to design the map and a visual system that allows the viewer to understand what is going on. Finally, the decision was made to keep the character in the centre and let everything around him move. The idea was to keep somewhat the style of the way the Berlin map is shown in public transport and around the city.
I wanted to have an anonymous character that changes in appearance, according to the things that happens to him.
